THE Minority Shareholders Watch Group (MSWG) wants to know from MKH Bhd the quantum of rental rebates accorded to eligible tenants at Plaza Metro Kajang and Metro Point Complex respectively during the company’s FY2020.
The property developer will convene a fully virtual annual general meeting (AGM) from the broadcast venue at RHR Hotel @ Kajang on March 3 at 10am.
To re-cap, the group has given eligible tenants at both commercial buildings rental rebates to ease their financial burdens during the movement control order (MCO) and conditional MCO (CMCO) period last year.
Formerly known as Metro Kajang Holdings Bhd, MKH is noted for its developments in Kajang, Selangor. Over the years, the developer has ventured into other areas in the Klang Valley.
“What are the current occupancy rates at Plaza Metro Kajang and Metro Point Complex respectively?” asked the shareholder activism group.
Additionally, MSWG also wishes to know the amount of stimulus packages received from the group’s property investment division in the form of wage subsidy programme and electricity bill discounts.
“What are the measures taken by the company to increase the foot-fall at these two complexes as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic?” enquired MSWG.
Elsewhere, the shareholder activism group is seeking clarification from Notion VTEC Bhd with regard to key risks related to the group’s operations amid fluctuating aluminium prices (the group’s main raw material).
“Given that commodity prices like aluminium have been increasing since last year, how and to what extent has it impacted the group’s products’ profit margins?” asked MSWG. “Will the group be able to pass the increase in raw material cost to its customers?”
With the group having made headways in the new extruded and machined aluminium parts, the shareholder activism group is also keen to know how Notion VTEC will be impacted should aluminium prices continue to rise.
“How will the group address the risk of rising prices of aluminium?” asked MSWG.
Notion VTEC will stage its virtual AGM on March 3 at 9.30am from its broadcast venue at the Tricor Business Centre in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur. – February 26, 2021
