AGM Watch: Show goes on for TMC and HL Industries

THE ongoing conditional movement control order (CMCO) is not a hindrance for TMC Life Sciences Bhd and Hong Leong Industries Bhd as both companies will be staging their annual general meetings (AGM) next week – virtually, of course.

For TMC, the Minority Shareholders Watch Group (MSWG) wants the company to shed some light into delay surrounding the expansion of its Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara (THKD) project.

Apparently, TMC in its Annual Report 2020 has attributed the delay to the movement control order (MCO) with the medical facility now scheduled for opening in the third quarter of 2021.

Therefore, MSWG would like to know from TMC what is THKD’s targeted growth rate in both top-line and bottom-lines for the next two financial years upon commencement of its operation.

To re-cap, the expansion will enable THKD to offer even more services and facilities to the community, including 600 beds, 11 operating theatres and more than 150 specialist outpatient professionals.

TMC will be staging its AGM virtually on Nov 4 at 10am from the meeting room of Securities Services Sdn Bhd in Menara Milennium, Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.

At the close of trading today, TMC was down 1 sen or 2.04% at 48 sen with 446,900 shares traded, thus giving the company a market capitalisation of RM836 mil.

Elsewhere, MSWG is also probing Hong Leong Industries Bhd on the outcome of its plan in FY2020 to roll out a new extended warranty programme for all its Yamaha models to allow customers to enjoy better product value and longer protection terms.

The question that come to mind is how the response for Yamaha motorcycles has been after the roll out of the new extended warranty programme.

HLIB will be staging its AGM virtually on Nov 4 from the Auditorium Ground Floor, Menara Hong Leong in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.

At the close of trading today, HLIB was down 4 sen or 0.53% at RM7.46 with 81,900 shares traded, thus giving the company a market capitalisation of RM2.45 bil.
