Agong ill-advised? Dr M and Muhyiddin are mirror images of each other!

FORMER Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad should reflect on himself before blaming everyone else for the nation’s malaise.

“Mahathir claims that the Malays are livid with the royalties due to the Emergency. He also alleged that our eight Prime Minister ill-advised the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

“My question is, why is he dragging Istana Negara into this?” Umno supreme council member Datuk Puad Zarkashi said, in a Facebook post.

Two days ago, Mahathir blamed Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for public anger against Istana Negara, claiming that the Pagoh MP had given wrong advise to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the Emergency proclamation.

“Everything is left to the Agong to bear, as if His Majesty was at fault. Malays are not used to being angry with the royalty.

“I guess people are suffering due to the Emergency,” he was reported saying after an audience with the Agong.

Hurling brickbats against Mahathir, Puad said that the former is no different from Muhyiddin when it comes to giving bad advise to the Agong.

Citing Tan Sri Tommy Thomas’ appointment as the Attorney-General during the Pakatan Harapan’s administration, Puad claimed it was one of many examples on how Mahathir erred in his judgment.

“And people got angry with Thomas. He was all about selective prosecution by dropping corruption charges against former Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng and others.

“As a result, Malaysia had one of its worst AG in a long time,” Puad alleged. – April 22, 2021
