AirAsia advises passengers on steps to take during essential travel period

KUALA LUMPUR: Low-cost airline AirAsia has implemented various measures to ensure that travellers during the essential travel period as well as those with special needs can adapt to the new norm of flying.

Group chief operations officer Javed Malik said the measures were implemented in the pre-flight and in-flight phases.

Checking their travel eligibility is the first step as countries are imposing different rules, he noted in a statement today.

Another move is to ensure that the aircraft and cabin environment is cleaned and disinfected regularly.

Passengers with prams and strollers must clean them, while wheelchairs would be sanitised before and after being used.

Expectant mothers or those above 60 plus accompanying passengers can use dedicated counters for check-in.

“Most importantly, don’t forget to observe the universally recommended protective precautionary measures, including wearing a face mask and practising high personal hygiene,” Javed added. – May 19, 2020, Bernama
