WITH the economy getting a hit from the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become inevitable for businesses to adapt to creative means to stay afloat and the airline industry is no exception.
In its Super Sale programme which comes into effect today till Nov 22, AirAsia is offering great bargains for its Islamic beauty care products, services and accessories.
Using the promo code “Super5”, shoppers can get 10% of its Aqiqah Abroad and Aqiqah Makkah services via the Ikhlas platform.
Ikhlas was a platform launched in September to promote Muslim lifestyle, with Aqiqah being its primary driver.
Aqiqah Abroad gives Muslims an avenue to purchase a goat while under Aqiqah Makkah, the goat will be sacrificed in the holy city of Makkah.
The meat from the sacrifice will be distributed to the needy in the respective countries.
Among the nations that come under the Aqiqah Abroad programme include Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Palestine and Pakistan.
Apart from selling Muslim lifestyle services, AirAsia will also be promoting food items on its platform, charging only RM1 as delivery fee.
Touching on the matter, AirAsia.com CEO Karen Chan said their business have expanded across the region since the airasia.com mobile app was launched last month.
“We have recently launched the AirAsia Unlimited Pass in the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia, and introduced AirAsia Health in Malaysia – a platform that provides end-to-end medical services.
“We are also working on expanding our e-commerce presence within Asean through strategic partnerships and collaborations with technology providers, merchants and vendors,” she said.
Chan hoped that the Super Sale would help rejuvenate businesses affected by the pandemic, while offering shoppers enjoyable time by finding the best deals for travel, activities, food and rewards.
“Apart from great discounts, shoppers can also earn 3x BIG Points when they pay with the AirAsia credit card during the airasia.com Super Sale. Meanwhile, BIG members also have the option of paying using BIG Points,” she added.
Three days ago, AirAsia Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes announced that he will be one of the riders delivering food ordered using the AirAsia food app.
The airline tycoon had announced that he will start his “new job” next month.
“Tony has been very supportive of our food business and is really one to be hands-on. He’s been working on getting his motorbike licence just so he can start delivering for AirAsia food.” AirAsia Food chief Sabrina Khaw told online portal, The Malay Mail, three days ago. – Nov 16, 2020
