Airline passenger loses RM28k in-flight: How secure is your luggage?

THERE have been several discussions with regards to the rise of robberies during flights.

X users stated that they too have been victims of other passengers rummaging through their luggage, taking away their expensive items or credit cards.

Another X user posted a video of a robbery happening during boarding, informing other social media users to be wary of the situation.

Thankfully, the thief was later caught by the flight attendant and subsequently was escorted out of the aircraft by the police.

Netizens shared their disdain for such individuals.

Apparently, a post that went viral recently states that a passenger lost RM28,000 on a flight after a fellow passenger stole their credit cards.

It is suspected that the other passenger stole from them while they were asleep. Furthermore, the victim gave precautionary advice to others that they need to be mindful where they’re storing their valuables while on an airplane.

Additionally, X users said that it would be much safer if passengers were to keep their credit cards and wallets on them during the duration of the flight.

Sometimes, it would be good to have a small carry on with you while you’re on your flight. Many were surprised to know that such a thing can happen.

Others say that AirAsia’s new policy of limiting carry-ons on a flight could be a blessing in disguise, as incidents like these would be rather difficult.

This is due to there being fewer chances for passengers to leave their wallets and other important documents or items in their carry on bags. – Sept 8, 2024
