Akmal to Teresa Kok: “Your RM25m legal suit is peanuts; for ABATA’s sake, I’m willing to pay with my life”

DEFIANT UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh has played down concerns over the tit-for-tat retaliation by Seputeh DAP Youth (DAPSY) which filed a police report against him at the Sri Petaling police station in Kuala Lumpur yesterday (Sept 12).

Instead, the unremorseful Merlimau state assemblyman took a swipe at DAP vice-chairman Teresa Kok who had on Wednesday (Sept 11) slapped him with a RM25 mil defamatory suit for a host of disparaging remarks against her for starting the ‘war’ yet has now “resorted to playing victim”.

“I want to tell you. I’m not at all fearful … bring forth whatever you have; we meet in court,” he responded in a Facebook video.

“This is anak jantan (brave male child) who will not retreat against adversaries … I want to let you guys know that for the sake of religion, race and nation (ABATA or acronym for agama, bangsa dan tanah air), not only RM25 mil but I’m willing to stake my life in any ensuing battle.

“Lawan tetap lawan (literally, a fight is still a fight). No fear, no surrender.”

As his fans rallied him on – some likening him for possessing the Hang Tuah (Malay warrior) trait – his snail-pace and mild-mannered” response to the Global Ikhwan Group issue has left detractors – including human rights activist and lawyer Siti Kasim – aghast as he was very prompt in firing back at Kok who is also the six-term Seputeh MP.

To make matters worse, the senior DAP’s constructive objection of the proposal mooted by Religious Affairs Minister Datuk Dr Na’im Mokhtar to make it mandatory for pork/alcohol-free eateries to obtain halal certification pales in comparison to the serious crime allegedly linked to Global Ikhwan Sdn Bhd (GISB) following the police rescue of 402 kids after having raided 20 so-called orphanages in Negri Sembilan and Selangor on Wednesday (Sept 11).

Such double standard treatment made political observer BerhalaKuning (@thelast_demigod) wondered if GISB were to be a Chinese-owned entity.

“Akmal is silent about Global Ikhwan for he’s afraid of friendly fire later,” reckoned BerhalaKuning in a post on the X platform. “If only GISB is a Chinese company, he would have displayed his true heroic nature.”

In fact, many seemingly sensible Pakatan Harapan (PH) backers have reminded the Melaka state EXCO who was recently conferred Datukship  not to take Kok’s legal action easily for DAP “has a clean track record in filing defamatory suits”.

“Did you say the same to your biological brother when he sued you, @drakmalsaleh,” asked a Malay netizen. “The problem is ~ you lost! So, it’s OK for not being afraid. Win or lose is what matters. @teresakok should just proceed.” – Sept 13, 2024
