WE refer to the Letter to Editor “Who to blame for our poor public transport system?” that appeared in the Focus Malaysia portal on Dec 12, 2022.
Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) thanks the writer for sharing his concerns regarding the maintenance of our trains and wishes to address them.
Scheduled overhaul of ERL trains is carried out every 1.5 million km for each train to comply with manufacturing requirements. The fifth train overhaul exercise since the launch of our services in 2002 is currently in progress.
ERL would like to draw attention to our 99.7% on-time performance record, which is second only to Hong Kong Airport Express’ 99.9%, among all airport express services worldwide.
This reliability achievement is only possible through compliance with strict regulatory requirements (under the purview of Land Public Transport Agency or APAD) and ISO: 9001 2015.
All our train maintenance works are carried out by highly skilled ERL engineers and technicians at Kompleks Rel Udara, Sepang.
