“Allegation of Israeli vessel docking in M’sia: Anthony Loke called to account”

THE Malaysia Madani appears to lack creditability if the directive by the Prime Minister (PM) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Dec 20, 2023 prohibiting all Israeli-registered vessels from plying Malaysian ports is not adhered to or is simply being implemented half-heartedly.

The statement by Anwar, which also represents a Cabinet decision, also stated that the Transport Ministry would take immediate action by imposing a permanent ban on the company.

Last December, the media reported that as many as 4,000 containers owned by the Israeli company ZIM Integrated Shipping Services were promptly transferred from several of our ports.

Therefore, the question arises: Did the Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook allow a ZIM Rotterdam container ship owned by the company to dock at Port Klang on April 29? If so, what was the justification for permission to be granted? Doesn’t this contradict the statement by the PM and the Cabinet’s decision?

Loke must promptly address this issue to the entire Malaysian populace awaiting genuine clarification. We do not want the image of the Malaysia Madani government to be tarnished due to this serious issue, especially since Malaysia stands in solidarity with Palestinians. – June 5, 2024
