Amanah now say Terrirudin be fully recused from hearing cases related to Najib’s royal addendum

AMANAH secretary-general Faiz Fadzil has called for former attorney-general Ahmad Terrirudin Mohd Salleh to be fully recused from hearing cases related to Najib Abdul Razak’s royal addendum, rather than just being temporarily benched.

His statement follows suggestions from lawyers Haniff Khatri Abdulla and Hasnal Rezua Merican, who argued that Terrirudin’s involvement had previously misled both the Kuala Lumpur High Court and Parliament.

“It is unreasonable for him (Terrirudin) to influence the decision of the addendum case because the judiciary today is seen as an independent body.

“Therefore, any decision regarding the addendum case must be heard and decided fairly and without influence,” Faiz said.

They believe his mistakes affected legal proceedings and public understanding of the addendum issue. Faiz emphasised the need for judicial independence and fair decision-making. —Feb 16, 2025
