Amanah Youth: Agong should revoke Hadi’s ‘Tan Sri’ title

AMANAH Youth has urged the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah to revoke the ‘Tan Sri’ title awarded to the PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.

The title ‘Tan Sri’ was given by the King to Hadi back in 2021.

According to Amanah Youth vice president Abbas Salimmi Che Azmi, Hadi admitted that there was an attempt to topple the unity government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Abbas is of the opinion that this is rude and disrespectful to the decree issued by the King and the Malay Rulers.

“Hadi’s actions cannot be left unchecked. His Majesty has decreed many times in the past from when the unity government was established that we need to work together to defend the country and make sure that it is on the path to recovery,” Abbas told reporters at Istana Negara earlier today.

Moreover, Abbas was at Istana Negara to submit a memorandum urging action against the Marang MP.

In response to Hadi’s recent admission that Perikatan Nasional is intending to topple the current federal government, Abbas noted that as a senior politician who carries the image of Islam and has the title ‘tuan guru’, he should have worked together with other leaders to rebuild the nation for the sake of the people instead of being power-crazy and intending to overthrow the government.

Furthermore, Hadi stated that doing so is legal in a democratic country, and no one has the power to stop such planning.

Abbas criticised Hadi for the remark, calling for “drastic” action against him for jeopardising the country’s stability.

“Enough of politicking. It’s about time we should focus on developing the country; don’t just keep asking for the conditional withdrawal of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), but at the same time, plan to topple the government.” — March 8, 2023
