Annuar Musa caught flouting SOP again, fellow Umno leader takes former to task

IN a continued verbal assault against Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa, Umno supreme council member Datuk Puad Zarkashi slammed the former for caught flouting the COVID-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) once again.

“This is what I call ‘culture of giving excuses’. These people will come up with all sorts of excuses just to cover up their mistakes,” he said, in a Facebook post.

Yesterday, a picture was posted on social media showing Annuar sitting in an outdoor dining table with several others, clearly breaching SOP rule which only allows two persons, per table.

However, Annuar defended himself by saying he was only seated there momentarily and left the place after realising the organisers were breaching SOP.

On Jan 28, a picture of Annuar was shown talking a walk with three other persons, which was also a breach of SOP as the Government only allowed two people, from the same family, to go for a walk or jogging.

At the time, the minister defended himself saying that the other individuals, former Kuala Lumpur City Hall director-general Datuk Dr Noordin Abdul Razak and former Kelantan Football Association treasurer Datuk Nik Aminaldin Jaafar, joined him by “coincidence”.

However, Puad was unimpressed by Annuar’s excuses.

The former Batu Pahat MP said it did not make sense that Annuar remained at the event, even for a moment, despite knowing the organisers were breaching SOP.

“Previously, Annuar breached SOP by walking with two others. It was hilarious to see the minister trying to reason himself out of it by saying they all joined him by ‘chance’.

“Even if the duo did join by ‘chance’, why were all three of them not wearing face masks? So much excuses which is only damaging Perikatan Nasional’s already battered image,” the former Deputy Education Minister remarked. – Feb 14, 2021.
