“Annuar Musa naïve for assuming DAP’s presence at unity meet will spook UMNO members,” says DAP man

A DAP leader has accused Tan Sri Annuar Musa of being naïve and filled with hatred for claiming that DAP’s attendance at the unity government national convention held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) on Sunday (May 14) will drive some members to leave UMNO.

Sheik Omar Ali claimed that the former UMNO secretary-general should be aware that convention held two days ago was a natural progression six months after Agong’s decree that a unity government is to be formed after 15th General Election (GE15).

“And the facts are obvious that PN refused to join unity government as decreed. In another words, PN failed to understand and act in accordance with the orders of Agong,” the Johor DAP vice-chairperson said in a statement on Facebook.

According to Sheikh Omar, DAP’s attendance at PWTC on May 14 is a symbol of loyalty to the King as vowed in the Rukun Negara and a willingness to leave behind any previous hostility in order to uphold the commandment.

Sheikh Omar also described the inaugural delegates convention of the unity government as a fresh beginning for the country’s politics that addresses rakyat’s concerns regardless of race, religion, or specific region, in keeping with the spirit of Malaysia inherent in the Federal Constitution.

“Annuar’s shallow view is nothing but an expression of political greed for power alone that seeks to divide the people.

“And this comes at a time when the unity government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is working hard for the rakyat to revive the economy and country,” Sheikh Omar noted. – May 16, 2023
