Annum refutes baseless allegations against the company, re-affirms its corporate integrity

BURSA Malaysia’s Main Market-listed plywood products maker Annum Bhd (previously Cymao Holdings Bhd) has been made aware of a malicious letter circulating among the Audit Oversight Board’s (AOB) registered auditor(s).

The letter contains baseless allegations on the false announcements and account irregularities. It was written by an individual named Ahmad bin Faisal who claimed to be a member of the company’s staff.

“Annum denies all allegations in the letter and reiterates its commitment to maintaining integrity in all aspects of its business operations,” Annum pointed out in a media statement.

“The company wishes to emphasise that the allegations are false, unsubstantiated and misleading, and intended to damage the company’s reputation. They also intentionally create difficulties for the company to engage auditors to conduct the audit.”

Annum has lodged a police report on the allegations and will take necessary steps to protect the interests of the company and shareholders.

“The company will also take legal action against anyone who continues to malign its reputation,” it added.

Annum has been suspended since Nov 8, 2023 over failure to submit its annual report alongside the company’s annual audited financial statements for the financial period ended June 30, 2023 for public release by Oct 31, 2023 pursuant to Paragraph 9.23(1) of the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Securities. – April 3, 2024
