AIRASIA has gotten itself into some hot waters as of late due to them not refunding its customers and many are complaining to Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook.
The latter in a Twitter post today, replied to some complaints saying he will request AirAsia to apologise to all passengers affected and that there will be a full investigation regarding the situation.
I take note of your complaint. I will ask AirAsia X’s management to apologize to all affected passengers. MAVCOM will investigate the case. https://t.co/4PqLAPe8Ab

The complaints were also about flights that have been delayed several times, causing the passengers to be very upset.
A netizen who was stranded with his wife in Australia while flying with AirAsia X had tweeted about the issue and tagged the Minister of Transport.
Their flight was supposed to be on the Jan 2 but it got rescheduled to the Jan 6 without the airline giving any compensation whatsoever.
The netizen had to book a hotel using his own money and the airline was of no help. He even had to take out his financial investments to pay for the last-minute booking of the hotel.

Twitter user @happypankaj responded to Loke’s reply:
It is not an apology that is needed. This has become blatant cheating, and passengers are left stranded. Worse, no refund. Only credit. One of my friend was asked to pay triple the ticket price on an alternative flight although it was them who cancelled. This was a seperate case.

Another Twitter user @SenoritaHabee said:
Dear @anthonyloke , is there any way that you could discuss with AA for customers to get their refund? Some of us do not want to use their credit as we would prefer flying with a different airline but our money is stuck with them. Their customer service is almost non-existent.

Following that, @HASIF225 stated:
Each flight delay cost money to passengers. People have their own work and schedule. Time is money for everyone. Hope all airlines will be more responsible after this and not simply reschedule a flight. And if they do, they should compensate the customer.

Not all of the Twitter users were in approval of Loke on his response. Some disagreed with what Anthony Loke tweeted, such as Twitter user @SyedAlwiMohdSu2 who said:
Dear YB Anthony, if your Admin responded to this query, they should have sought some legal advice before responding. Otherwise don’t respond at all. Because the response sounds so indifferent and detached.
