Anwar disbelieves vampires but he trusted Dr M to make him PM, Najib mocks

FORMER prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak mocked PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim over a jest the latter made over the former’s remarks on “screaming like a vampire” when called for the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Government and the Opposition to be discontinued.

“Yes, Anwar doesn’t believe in vampires but he actually trusted Atuk (Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad) to hand over the prime ministership to him. That was hilarious,” he said, in a Facebook post.

Speaking at the PKR annual congress yesterday, Anwar accused the Government of failing to address the rising cost of living, which is affecting all Malaysians and businesses.

In a response, Najib reminded the PKR leader that soaring cost of living was a global problem triggered by supply chain issues and the war between Ukraine and Russia.

“But if you’re so against the Government, then why support it using the MoU? Getting the Opposition to abandon the agreement is like asking them to dance with vampires,” the Pekan MP had stated.

To that, Anwar responded at a press conference saying: “It looks like Najib knows how to dance with vampires. Firstly, I don’t believe in vampires. So, I urge Najib to explain who is the person he is referring to as a vampire.”

Unable to help himself, Najib also listed the “other things” the Port Dickson had “believed in”, which had proven to be false later on.

“Anwar believed that the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) will be abolished after Pakatan Harapan won. He also believed that fuel prices will go down to RM1.50 within 24 hours after their 2018 win.

“He also believed prices of good will dip after the Goods and Services Tax (GST) got abolished and Anwar also believed Pakatan can find the missing MH370 plane within seconds.

“And Anwar also believed there was 40,000 phantom voters from Bangladesh had voted after a mass blackout in 2013,” the Pekan MP remarked. – July 17, 2022
