MAIN Market-listed information technology (IT) software and platform provider ARB Bhd has unveiled a groundbreaking collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) to establish a state-of-the-art AI Data Analysis Lab with the ultimate aim of revolutionising the field of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in Malaysia and beyond.
The collaboration in light of UTM pioneering establishment of the first AI study centre in Malaysia brings together ARB as the platform partner, UTM as the research partner and Attrelogix Networks Sdn Bhd as the technology partner.
The partnership aims to harness the collective expertise and resources of the parties involved to develop an advanced AI Data Analysis system that will provide actionable insights and to facilitate agile decision-making processes.
“This initiative marks a significant milestone in our journey to advance research in AI technology by collaborating with leading institutions and experts in the field,” commented ARB’s executive director Hong Zi Shen.
“We are confident in our ability to drive innovation, inspire learning and shape the future of AI. Together with our collaboration partners from local universities and technology partners, we look forward to unlocking new possibilities and shaping the future of AI-driven solutions.”
The partnerships pursued by ARB will focus on creating an AI system which serves as a platform for the development of cutting-edge AI technologies and solutions as well as able to support educational initiatives by providing students and researchers with hands-on experience in AI development, concepts and techniques.
Additionally, ARB will provide scholarships and sponsorships to UTM students engaged in research activities related to AI data analysis, hence nurturing the next generation of AI experts. The partnership aims to develop greater expertise in AI technologies through strategic collaborations and initiatives.
In expressing his enthusiasm for the collaboration, Attrelogix’s director Kent Choong described the partnership with UTM as a significant milestone in the company’s journey towards becoming a partner in AI and technology.

Meanwhile, UTM’s Azman Hashim International Business School dean Prof Dr Rosmini Omar reiterated the university’s commitment to be in the forefront of AI education and research.
“This collaboration with ARB and Attrelogix will enable us to leverage our expertise and facilities to make significant strides in AI data analysis and contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions that will benefit industries and society as a whole,” she added.
At the close of trading yesterday (March 27), ARB was unchanged at 4 sen with 267,000 shares traded, thus valuing the company at RM50 mil. – March 28, 2024
