MALAYSIANS who frequently use the public transport can attest to their inefficiency, and more often than not, lack of hygiene.
For one particular netizen, it was the Electric Train Service (ETS) which caused great inconvenience in the form of lengthy delays.
Mak aku dari Taiping naik ETS patut dijadualkan sampai KL Sentral jam 9.30pm, tadi dekat Rawang saja dah stop 2 jam. Sekarang 11.10pm masih tak sampai2, berhenti kt Sg Buloh pulak. Dah la lapar, berhenti bukan dekat stesyen yg boleh turun. Totally unacceptable @anthonyloke https://t.co/rz2RnRLZXN

“My mother who sat on the ETS from Taiping was scheduled to arrive at KL Sentral at 9.30pm, but it stopped near Rawang for two hours. Now it is 11.30pm and it has yet to reach, having stopped at Sungai Buloh instead,” he said, adding that they were not only hungry, but the train stopped at a station where they cannot go down.
His complaints echoes the recent news from several media outlets stating that a break in the overhead power line between Kepong and Sungai Buloh.
Free Malaysia Today reported that Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd said only one track is in use on the route, causing delays of between 30 minutes to one hour on the KTM Komuter route between Tanjung Malim and Port Klang.
The netizen has since tagged Transport Minister Anthony Loke, hoping to draw his attention to this problem.
Prompted by his complaint, many other public-transport-using netizens emerged to share their experience.
Netizen Jiha said at least the ETS had a toilet. Jiha added that her friend was stuck in the KTM for two hours while it only moved for 10 minutes. Left and right there were only bushes, and the KTM did not have a toilet.
“Again? That day on 15 October, I was from Sungai Petani to KL Sentral, expected to reach at 6.40pm. It was stuck at Station Rasa, moved a little then got stuck again. Finally it arrived at KL Sentral at 10.34pm. There were no complimentary food, bonus point or anything. The plan was ruined, and the tired became exhausted,” said whoosg.
Frank Albos chipped in, saying that this was what they felt with the northern KTM commuter.
There are always problems, being slow, spoiled and more. He claimed the KTM only know how to apologise without end. – Oct 27, 2024
