KEDAH Menteri Besar and PAS elections director general Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor who is back in the party’s central committee said the government headed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim must be overthrown. He noted this while speaking to PAS members regarding the re-delimitation of constituencies that is expected to take place this term. He stated that PAS must do everything to deny Anwar’s government the power to carry out the delimitation exercise. “The time has come to re-delimit the electoral constituencies, which is done every 10 years. If they (the unity government) have two-thirds in Parliament, this is the time for them to do the exercise.
“This is something that all members of PAS need to take seriously so that the upcoming demarcation does not give an advantage to the opposing party.“Want it or not, this government must be overthrown,” he said when delivering his closing speech at the PAS 69th Annual Meeting.
Moreover, the Kedah MB has emerged as the leading vote-getter in the PAS central committee election for the 2023–2025 term. Garnering 1,098 votes, he secured a spot on the committee, joining 17 other notable figures.Among the elected members are former PAS Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, Batu Buruk assemblyman Khalil Abdul Hadi, Kelantan MB Datuk Nassuruddin Daud and his deputy Fadzli Hassan. – Oct 22, 2023
