Australian woman and four GISB leader’s wives get remand extended

AN Australian woman, along with four wives and three children of a GISB Holdings (GISBH) leader, was remanded for seven days in connection with alleged child abuse and forced labour.

Malaysian police arrested them in Rawang and placed them in remand until Oct 4. This follows an investigation where GISBH CEO Datuk Nasiruddin Mohd Ali and others also had their remand extended.

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) have rescued 572 children and arrested over 300 individuals since Sept 11 as part of the “Ops Global” operation.

Several GISBH-related accounts containing RM882,795 were frozen under anti-money laundering laws.

Meanwhile, the investigation into GISB uncovers that the organisation has never paid taxes. This was revealed by a joint investigation by the police and Inland Revenue Board (IRB).

Police have frozen millions in assets, including 14 plots of land, animals, cash, and valuables, linked to GISB, which is under investigation for child labour, abuse, and exploitation.

Recent raids on GISB-operated welfare homes led to the rescue of 402 children. The investigation is being conducted under the Income Tax Act 1967. – Sept 28, 2024
