AutoCount gets included in Bursa Malaysia Quality 50 Index, joins ranks of blue-chip PLCs

ACE Market-listed AutoCount Dotcom Bhd, Malaysia’s leading provider of financial management and e-invoicing solutions, has recently been included as a constituent of the Bursa Malaysia Quality 50 Index (BMQ 50) – the first in-house index by the local bourse to profile listed companies with strong financial quality characteristics.

The index adopts a transparent, rules-based methodology to select 50 Malaysian-listed companies that demonstrate comparatively stronger financial fundamentals.

Companies are assessed based on three key Quality measures, namely (i) profitability (return on equity); (ii) capital structure (debt-to-equity ratio); and (iii) earnings quality (operating cash flow relative to profit after tax).

AutoCount’s inclusion in the index reflects the group’s consistent financial performance, disciplined capital management and strong operating cash flow generation.

The index covers eligible companies listed on both the Main Market and ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia, excluding constituents of the FBM KLCI and is reviewed semi-annually.

In a way, this means AutoCount has ‘joined the ranks’ of blue-chip PLCs in the likes of Ajinomoto (M) Bhd, Bursa Malaysia Bhd, Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd, Heineken Malaysia Bhd, United Plantations Bhd and Westports Holdings Bhd, to name a few.

“This inclusion reflects the way we run the business – with discipline, consistency and a long-term mindset,” commented AutoCount’s managing director Y.T. Choo.

“By focusing on building a company with strong cash flow, prudent capital management and scalable earnings, we believe this will continue to support sustainable value creation for our shareholders.”

Currently operating in the ACE Market technology sector, AutoCount has continued to strengthen its position as a leading provider of financial management, cloud accounting and e-invoicing solutions for businesses, particularly SMEs (small medium enterprises), in Malaysia and the region.

Designed to support investment and portfolio applications within the Malaysian equity market, the BMQ 50 Index serves as a market benchmark and profiling tool for investors seeking companies with strong Quality characteristics.

At 11.53am, AutoCount was down 0.5 sen or 0.69% to 72 sen with 119,700 shares traded, thus valuing the company at RM396 mil. – Jan 15, 2026
