Battle of FB Raya greeting “likes”: Bossku’s popularity means nothing as nation has been plundered big-time

THAT disgraced former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak– despite having to stay behind bars – has elicited a humongous umber of likes on his Facebook Hari Raya greeting post has certainly given Bossku fans a reason to rejoice during the Eid festivity.

“47,000 likes for Bossku in four hours,” so screamed MYNEWSHUB (@mynewshub) in a recent post on X (previously Twitter).

“Later there is bound to be claims from PH (Pakatan Harapan) sympathisers that fake accounts are raving … there’s nothing to be proud about also.”

Added the netizen: “But there’s every reason to be proud for someone who’s no longer in the mainstream politics of the country’s politics is still cherished by the people … During his time, Malaysia advanced for there was a sense of direction, hence everyone was happy.

“But there’re only scammers in today’s age.”

For context, MYNEWSHUB has done a cross-comparison of Najib with Prime Minister (PM) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim raking in 2,300 likes in 16 hours; twice former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad 1,800 likes in 20 hours and ‘back-door’ PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin 551 likes in 17 hours.

He even provided an update a few hours down the road to include Anwar’s predecessor Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

True to the age-old adage that a man’s meat is another man’s poison, obviously pro-Pakatan Harapan netzines would not treat MYNEWSHUB’s high praises for the former Pekan MP too kindly with the poster expecting Najib haters to harp on the 1MDB (1Malaysia Development Bhd) scandal.

In fact, a netizen rubbished the findings of MYNEWSHUB because Anwar’s Hari Raya message had also been telecast live by all TV stations, hence would command even better response in terms of viewership.

Other netizens postulated that pitting Anwar who has only assumed premiership for two years against Bossku’s 10-year reign is somehow unfair. Above all else, there is nothing to be proud of Bossku for he has “practically embarrassed the Malay race”.

More so, many of Bossku fans simply turn a blind eye to all his wrongdoings which includes saddling Malaysia with a RM42 bil 1MDB debt.

On the hindsight, some netizens wondered if Malaysia could make treat the number of likes as a form of polling system to replace the existing general election.

Whatever said and done, the 47,000 likes that Bossku received can never repay that humongous sum of money that has been plundered in the 1MDB scandal “even if each of the Bossku fan who accorded the likes were to donate RM1,000 each to repay the 1MDB debt”. – April 11, 2024
