THE fasting period is here, and alongside it comes the signature bazaar Ramadhan and sadly, the possibility of being scammed.Β
Recently, a netizen by the name of πππ₯π₯π ππππ’ππ§βπ pointed out his mother who was being fooled into buying two jars of cookies at the price of RM10 each.Β
A simple examination, however, revealed that it was in fact, Chipsmore, being conveniently removed from their respective packages.
Even more hilarious was the fact that the seller claimed that her children made it.Β

Imagine that, removing cookies from their packaging, and putting them into plastic jars to be sold at a much higher price.
It sure beats those poor sods out there who had to go through all the trouble baking their cookies.
Apparently, πππ₯π₯π ππππ’ππ§βπ’s mom wasn’t the only person to be fooled. Netizen naaaaa came out to admit that she was a victim of this scam too.
To add salt to the wound, HadekBottem claimed that perhaps those were not Chipsmore, but some other inferior brand which were much cheaper.
His thoughts were echoed by bittermf who claimed it was those brandless biscuits from the factory which were way cheaper than Chipsmore.
Several netizens have since pointed out that charity and appeals to a good heart is the new way for people to scam.
Apparently there were people handing out cards describing their pitiful financial position. Talk about a winning sales pitch.
βThere is a difference between charity and stupidity,β said Mat Dee while Θ₯Κ warned that there will be recompense in the afterlife for these scammers.Β
dk added that the mother was an enabler to these scammers as her action will encourage more opportunistic individuals to follow suit.Β
Prompted by the scenario, Yaari further highlighted a moist cake at the bazaar which was in fact just two Apollo cakes combined with a layer of chocolate as topping.Β
These traders sure know to take the easy way out. We can only wonder what other elaborate scams are lying about, hidden in plain sight amidst all the colours and vibrancy of theΒ Ramadhan bazaar. βMar 4, 2025
