Bersatu Vice President mocks PAS for trying to “own” PN

VICE PRESIDENT of Bersatu, Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, mocked those who are making a move to push Bersatu out of the PN bloc, likening them to those who cut ties with allies yet still want to remain in the same “house.”

Though he did not name any party in his statement, it is believed he is directing his criticism towards PAS.

Posting on Facebook yesterday, the Bersatu leader said those ending ties with an old ally should not continue to stay under the existing PN umbrella.

“Already divorced. That house? How is it? You want that house? Really? Honestly, you are not ashamed? Try to speak truly,” Faizal said.

“Wait. I want to cover my ugly face. Even though ugly, I know shame,” he said in the Facebook post.

Faizal did not mince his words in the attacks against the former partners in PN after PAS broke its political cooperation with Bersatu.

“When you already did it with another woman, you then start to find fault with the people of your house. You are obsessed with the new lover, even her fart smells fragrant,” he mocked.

He said that if the relationship could no longer continue, the matter should first be discussed and that major decisions should not be made in a hurry.

“If you no longer like the people of your house, you should slow talk first. You should inform more or less of your intentions first,” he said.

“Don’t, after having lunch together, suddenly, without storm, without wind, you declare divorce,” Faizal continued.

Meanwhile, the fight for ownership in the weakening opposition camp continues with PAS leaders hitting back at Bersatu, saying that it is for the party of former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin to leave PN.

Last week, PAS vice president Amar Abdullah said Bersatu must exit PN if it intends to contest against PAS in the upcoming state polls.

He said Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin’s statement saying the party will contest against PAS on all fronts was odd.

“If they really want to go against us, they cannot remain in PN. Bersatu must exit,” Berita Harian reported him as saying.

Muhyiddin said Bersatu would contest under the PN banner in the Johor and Negeri Sembilan polls, as the party helped founded the coalition.

He also insisted that Bersatu would remain in PN, citing the coalition’s strong brand.

On Friday, Bersatu Information Chief, Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, reportedly said that PAS should leave PN and form a new coalition using its own logo and branding.

He claimed PAS was never fully committed to PN, besides also being involved in political negotiations outside the coalition.—June 21, 2026
