Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal has hit out at the Madani government for going against its pro-Palestinian stance by agreeing to the potential sale of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) to a consortium comprising Gateway Development Alliance and its shareholders who intend to take global airports operator private.
This is because the Khazanah Nasional Bhd and Employees Provident Fund (EPF)-led consortium also consists of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) – one of the world’s premier infrastructure investors and an experienced airport owner and manager – which the Machang MP claimed as belonging to “pro-Zionist fund management giant BlackRock”.
Recall that In January, New York-headquartered BlackRock – the world’s largest asset manager with US$10 tril in assets under management as of end-December 2023 – purchased GIP whose key assets include investments in Edinburgh Airport, London Gatwick Airport and Sydney Airport for more than US$12.5 bil in cash and stock.
‘The shares of our airport operator MAHB have been sold to the pro-Zionist Blackrock (owner of GIP) who is involved in funding the killing of Palestinians via investments in their weapons of war companies!” berated Ahmad Fayhsal in a tweet.

“Talk big about defending Palestine but do something else behind the scenes! This is not fake news! The government needs to be responsible!”
The deputy chief of Perikatan Nasional (PN) Youth also took a potshot at Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook for having denied the matter as “sheer speculation” when he first brought it up in the Parliament in March.
“I asked in the Dewan Rakyat last March 11 about the matter but he (Loke) brushed it aside that the news was mere speculation and that there was no need to accuse without evidence,” claimed Ahmad Fayhsal.
Interestingly, the Machang MP found himself on the receiving end from netizens when one would expect his pro-Palestinian narrative to be gaining ‘sympathy votes’.
Izzat (@Izzat28740032) wondered if Ahmad Fayhsal had reported the matter to the authorities, notably the police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), rather than “just to embark on empty talk”.
This is when the former deputy unity minister sparked a ‘commotion’ with a rebuttal “are you blind that we’ve lodged numerous reports but to no avail because the enforcement authorities are biased”. – May 17, 2024
