Best colours for the office lobby

WHEN redecorating or moving into new office premises, much thought will have been given to the lobby’s colour scheme.

It is where first impressions will be made and perceptions of the organisation are formed by visitors. Aside from the corporate colours, it has often been advised that business lobbies adopt neutral colours.

According to interior design experts, this is how neutral colours can give an office lobby a touch of class and sophistication.

Colours and accents

A lovely colour choice that can go well for almost all types of businesses are neutral tones. Neutral doesn’t have to mean dull, and business owners will still be able to add delicious colour accents to their space.

For the walls, choose either white, grey or ivory and build contrast with darker floors. BTOD.com advised to add depth to the waiting room by using a striking geometric pattern, then have it accented with a colourful rug and decorative items.

Vibrancy and lighting

Ideally, business owners should choose a combination of white, vibrant green, orange and turquoise seating units. Go for straight lines, arranging ottomans along a wall. For back support use matching colour cushions and choose round small tables to complement the interior.

As for the lighting, choose some decorative hanging lamps. Put one lamp above each table for a welcoming effect. If you want to add a library, go for modern cylinder shelves and place them in a corner of the room.
