Big PN show-off after Anwar’s successful Hari Raya open house in Kedah

PERIKATAN Nasional with the PAS in the lead in Kedah made a massive push to show that it has bigger support than Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Kedah.

On Saturday (May 13), the Opposition coalition launched its state election campaign, gathering thousands of grassroots members to show off their support in the state controlled by PAS.

In a Twitter account, PAS MP Nurul Amin Hamid said:

“The atmosphere was electric at the launch of the Perikatan Nasional election machinery in Kedah tonight at the Guar Chempedak Public Field, with a sea of people in attendance!”

No doubt the pictures in the post-show a large crowd that gathered after a motorcycle show around the area.

In another Twitter post, the MP said thousands had joined a motorcycle rally. He added that none of them were paid to join the rally, they were not given money, fuel, or free t-shirts.

While the MP received many congratulatory messages from supporters, other users on Twitter chide his post.

User @NapiahKecik said:

“This is the problem with PAS/PN. They are comparing the number of attendees. If this is the way they do things, it is clear that they have feelings of envy and jealousy. Even small things they refuse to lose. What are their plans for Padang Terap? They haven’t done anything there.”

The MP who posted the photos is the elected representative for Padang Terap. He defeated the UMNO representative, Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid in the November 2022 elections.

User @BasyirahIndah suggested that the MP take photos from a different angle to show the crowd.

“Next time try taking a photo from above. I want to see if the crowd really fills up the entire area or if it’s just a human wall.”

Meanwhile, user @berkaliber posted a photo showing  Anwar being greeted by local folks in Kedah.

“This is better. No need to have a motor rally,” about the gathering organised by the PH for the Kedah Hari Raya open house by the Prime Minister.

Whatever the arguments, there are talks of a tougher electoral battle in the six states that will dissolve their state assemblies by June this year.
