Bikers in accident claimed someone poured oil on the road: Netizens think it’s bullshit

AN ACCIDENT caught the attention of netizens recently, where three motorcyclists could be seen skidding during a sharp turn before crashing their bikes.

Safe to say, such accidents are plenty and it would not have drawn much attention if not for its peculiarities.

The motorcyclist claimed that someone had placed oil on the road, resulting in the accident. Netizens, however, are not buying it.

“Is it really oil and not because he took a corner, fell and took some sand?” @hatrednkaos wondered.

Netizen @XWarisan added that if it was due to the oil, why is it that not all the riders fell rolling? “These were not cheap motorcycles,” he said.

“If you behave while you’re riding, no amount of oil will give you that kind of damage,” said @afipazni.

“When riding a bike, go slowly. If you want to be fast please use the circuit,” said @LaZidaneta. Safe to say, the three bikers are not getting any love from the online community.

Some netizens who observed the video further claimed that they couldn’t find any oil patch on the road.

Then there was @AfiqArif82 who asked a pertinent question. “Why was it that the motorcyclist who recorded the incident did not fall? Is it because the tires he was using were anti-oil? Or was it because he drove slowly and politely?”

Another netizen remarked that this was what happened when the Mat Rempit of the T20 income bracket rode a bike.

On the other hand, @anasmyibrahim said the oil spill, assuming that there was an oil spill, could have been accidental. Likely it was caused by leakages from a heavy vehicle that used the highway.

The authorities have since issued a statement, stating that the accident happened at Kilometer 43.4,  Kuala Lumpur-Karak highway heading towards the east.

“As a result of the accident, one rider who was successfully located, sustained injuries to the right leg. Meanwhile, two other riders have yet to be contacted by the police,” said Bentong District Police Chief, Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar.

He also stressed that the police will take firm action and carry out continuous operations to ensure that the location is not turned into a racing circuit by irresponsible road users.

So it appears to be reckless driving after all, and not a fantastic tale about an evil schemer pouring oil on the road to screw with the bikers. —Apr 28, 2025
