Bintai Kinden can now distribute COVID-19 cold chain box in Malaysia

BINTAI Kinden Corp Bhd can commence its sale of Greenie Medi Cold Chain Box that is designed for the storage and distribution of COVID-19 vaccine in Malaysia.

This is given that its subsidiary Bintai Healthcare Sdn Bhd has received the official Certificate of Conformity in Good Distribution Practice for Medical Devices (GDPMD) from Medivice Certification Sdn Bhd for its Greenie Medi Cold Chain Box designed for the storage and distribution of COVID-19 vaccine.

Medivice is an approved certification body by the Medical Device Authority (MDA).

The GDPMD certification will allow the company to act as local authorised representative, import, storage and handling, distribution (including transportation) and documentation (including traceability) of medical devices warehousing and documentation of medical devices, specifically in hospital hardware and reusable devices.

‘This is the first step in order for the company to be legally allowed to market, distribute and sell the Greenie Medi Cold Chain Box produced by SLAB Asia Co Ltd of South Korea in Malaysia,” Bintai Kinden executive vice chairman Ibrahim Othman pointed out.

“The next immediate step is for Bintai Healthcare to submit for the MDA establishment license which will ensure that the company is in full compliance with the Health Ministry (MOH) and the MDA’s requirements for a company to be a licensed distributor of medical supplies.”

To recap, Bintai Healthcare was appointed as the exclusive distributor for Greenie Medi Cold Chain Box by SLAB Asia in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines and Indonesia.

It was also appointed as an authorised distributor for the product in Brunei, Myanmar, Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Laos, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

The Greenie Medi Cold Chain Box was designed for the exclusive use in transporting and storing medical products at very low temperatures. It keeps the inbox temperature at negative -70℃ for up to 120 hours.

SLAB Asia is one of the leading cold chain equipment manufacturers in South Korea and operates the country’s only ISTA 7D/7E certified private test lab.

ISTA 7D/7E is a test standard set by Centre for Drug Evaluation and Research under the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to certify compatibility and adequacy for transporting medical grade products.

At the close of today’s morning session, Bintai Kiden was down 0.5 sen or 1.08% to 46 sen with 3.42 million shares traded, thus valuing the company at RM176 mil. – April 27, 2021
