The US has confirmed that Russia and Ukraine have reached an agreement to ensure the safety of navigation in the Black Sea, a vital waterway for international trade.
Both countries have agreed to eliminate the use of force and ensure that commercial vessels will not be used for military purposes.
However, Russia insists that certain Western sanctions must be lifted before the agreement can be fully implemented.
