BERSATU Youth Chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal wants the police to act against a staunch Madani government backer who identified himself as “Suara Keadilan” for having defamed the party’s president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (TSMY), leading to widespread accusation that he has committed 3R (race, religion, royalty) breaches.
This comes about after the Machang MP alongside fellow Bersatu Youth members lodged a police report against “Suara Keadilan” for having uploaded the video entitled “Muhyiddin Yassin Cuba Hasut Fitnah Tuanku Yang Di-pertuan Agong (YDPA) di PRK Nenggiri” (“Muhyiddin Yassin Attempts to Slander YDPA in the Nenggiri By-Election”).
“The said video contains a clip where TSMY has given a speech before the Nenggiri by-election,” Wan Fayhsal pointed out in his Facebook page.
“The uploaded video is also accompanied by a picture of (former YDPA) Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah … We would like to state here that the clip of the speech used in the video is not the full speech given by TSMY and has been taken out of context.”
Contrary to Wan Fayhsal’s claim that the video uploaded by “Suara Keadilan” has gone viral, a check by FocusM nevertheless revealed that the said video which was uploaded last Thursday (Aug 15) has only fetched a meagre 1,702 views with 50 comments at the time of writing.
For context, Muhyiddin who is also the Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman has come under massive fire with 29 police reports lodged against him by various quarters as of Monday (Aug 18), according to Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.
Aside from having to provide his statement tomorrow (Aug 21) to facilitate investigations for questioning the sovereignty of Sultan Abdullah who is also the Pahang ruler, the Pagoh MP has also angered Pahang Crown Prince Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah who also wanted police to take firm action against the Bersatu lawmaker.
“The content and title of the video have been framed, edited and published with malicious intent to be spread on social media platforms with the aim of building the wrong perception that TSMY has opposed Al-Sultan Abdullah,” claimed Wan Fayhsal who is also the PN Youth deputy chief.
“As a result, various reports have been made against TSMY. We believe this video has been intentionally edited for the purpose of manipulating/fanning undesirable political narrative … we believe the perpetrators who publish/spread the said video have committed wrongdoing under (a) Section 124 I of the Penal Code; (b) Section 499 of the Penal Code; and (c) Section 4 of the Sedition Act 1948.”
In a related development, PN Pahang opposition leader Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has pledged support for the decree issued yesterday (Aug 19) by Tengku Hassanal in relation to Muhyiddin’s speech while campaigning for the Nenggiri by-election.
“We place full confidence in the police to carry out their job, hence hope all quarters will respect the wishes of His Highness by refraining from stirring up any polemic,” added Tuan Ibrahim who is also PAS deputy president. – Aug 20, 2024
