THAT the Chinese have become as easy target for blame of sorts as recently highlighted by ‘rowdy’ Amanah lawmaker Mohd Sany Hamzan in the Dewan Rakyat was obvious in the polemic surrounding the legality of NGO Muslim Friendly Watch (MFW) over its halal endorsement and issuance of halal certification.

This is given that many Muslims have conveniently blamed the Chinese for being the brains behind the NGO which has since apologised for causing confusion over halal status apart from taking immediate steps to cease all operations and systems operating under its banner.
“So a group of kafir (infidels) created an NGO called MFW, introduced the Muslim Choice label and appointed themselves as an authority to deceive Muslim tourists and customers without going through JAKIM (Department of Islamic Development Malaysia),” Anti Cyber Trooper (@genz20001) had hit out on X.
So a group of Kafirs created an NGO called Muslim Friendly Watch, introduced the Muslim Choice label lantik themselves as authority so they can deceive Muslim tourists and customers without going through JAKIM so the profits and influence flowed to them and their kafir partners https://t.co/U0u033vpFr

“(By so doing), the profits and influence flowed to them and their kafir partners.”
That the poster cited a statement by JAKIM director-general Datuk Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee who noted that the department did not recognise MFW’s halal endorsement nor permitted the NGO to issue Halal Malaysia logo on its behalf has sent Muslims into a frenzy with unfounded accusations hurled at the Chinese.
How the poster could have jumped into the conclusion that MFW ‘is controlled’ by the Chinese without doing proper due diligence on the NGO’s founding members is mind-boggling to begin with.
As pointed out by some commenters, the very fact that the annual fees imposed by MFW to retain one’s halal status “is a faction” of what is imposed by JAKIM could have been the root cause of “opportunistic Chinese tapping into the lucrative halal”

If this is not good enough, others claimed that this was a “Buy Chinese First (as opposed to Buy Muslim First)” campaign in disguise or that the so-called perpetrator “should be detained under SOSMA [Security Offences (Special Measures) Act] 2012”.

This was when one curious commenter wanted to know “who is the individual behind the NGO who has created so much fuss” with another mooting a protest at the NGO’s Johor office.

But alas the truth was revealed when one commenter shared photographic evidence that MFW was helmed by “one Malay (Noorman Kamsani) as its president”.

Apparently, the Halal Development Corp Bhd (HDC), an agency under the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry, had in May this year forged a strategic partnership with MFW to advance Malaysia’s Halal Diplomacy efforts and boost halal trade between Malaysia and China.
The collaboration which took immediately effect is designed to deepen halal business ties and enhance digital connectivity between the two nations.
Well, there has not been any apology whatsoever at the time of writing from Anti Cyber Trooper to the Chinese community for his damning post which accused the latter of trying to profit from a so-called scam. – Nov 12, 2025
