IN the Nenggiri by-election in Kelantan, Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani is leading with 1,229 votes, ahead of Perikatan Nasional’s Rizwadi Ismail.
These are unofficial returns reported by UMNO secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.
BN has won in four early-closing polling districts —Tohoi, Sungai Puian, Kuala Sungai, and Sungai Jenera —where they achieved majorities ranging from 49 to 352 votes.
Voter turnout has surpassed 70% as of 4pm, with all 20 polling centres set to close by 6pm. The final results will be announced by returning officer Nik Raisnan Daud at 9pm. – Aug 17, 2024
