“BN’s 10-seat target in Kedah for GE15 nothing but ‘pipe dream’,” sneers Sanusi

KEDAH Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Noor has labelled Barisan Nasional’s (BN) target of winning at least 10 parliamentary seats in the state for the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15) as a mere “pipe dream”.

The PAS lawmaker elaborated that Kedahans are adamant in not wanting BN to rule the state again.

“BN can target to win as many seats as they want but the reality is, the people of Kedah do not want BN,” he was reported as saying by Malaysiakini

Sanusi’s comment came following BN chairperson Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s announcement that BN targets to win at least 10 out of 15 parliamentary seats in Kedah for GE15.

Zahid, in a press conference after his meeting with Kedah BN yesterday (Oct 19) further said that BN would set up a task force to ensure that the target can be achieved, adding that the coalition had won two parliamentary seats in GE14, namely Baling and Padang Terap and are therefore aiming to win eight more.

On this matter, Sanusi pointed out that Zahid’s target differed from the one set by Kedah UMNO.

“Zahid, who resides in Kuala Lumpur, says [that BN is targeting] 10 parliamentary seats. [However] Kedah UMNO deputy chairperson Datuk Othman Aziz who lives in the state had stated that they are targeting only eight seats.

“Do you see the difference between confidence premised on reality and daydreaming?” he asked sarcastically. – Oct 20, 2022
