BookDoc, NCSM hosts charity virtual run to raise funds for cancer patients

BOOKDOC, a local healthcare technology startup has partnered with the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) to launch a charity virtual run from June 18 to July 18, in conjunction with National Cancer Survivors month (June and July).

The one-month fund-raising campaign initiative is to raise funds to support NCSM towards its continuous fight against cancer in hopes to bring the general public together to show support to both cancer survivors and patients.

BookDoc founder and CEO Datuk Chevy Beh said the event parallels the company’s long-lasting commitment in supporting the non-governmental organisation (NGO) community as well as promoting healthy lifestyles among the general public.

“I also believe that through this partnership with NCSM, we can definitely create more awareness and it would be a tremendous boost for NCSM to raise funds and continue their good fight against cancer,” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, NCSM managing director Dr M Murallitharan hopes the event will be able to encourage the habit of working-out, not just among cancer survivors but also the public in general, through the partnership with BookDoc.

Furthermore, registration for the virtual run has opened and will end on July 18.

Paid participants will receive a limited-edition T-shirt, virtual medal as well as an e-certificate upon completion and stand a chance to win the grand prize of a brand-new LED television, merchandise and goodies.

To participate, the public is required to download the BookDoc app and click on “Challenges” to register. For technical assistance, call 1300-88-2362 or email [email protected]. – June 30, 2022
