GLOBAL delivery service Borzo is knuckling down on its operations in Malaysia, with expansion plans in all major cities in the country by year end.
Striving on its capacity to enable same-day intracity deliveries, Borzo’s expansion plans will complement its continuous goals to create 100,000 jobs among Malaysians as it widens its footprint in the country.
“Since entering the market in 2018, we have created trust among our customers and enabled businesses of various sizes to go online and deliver their products to their customers’ doorsteps,” said Borzo Malaysia country manager Lingesh Thayala, adding that the company tripled its year-on-year deliveries in 2021.
With data compiled by Borzo showing Malaysian consumers’ demands of same-day delivery services, the company boasts of its capability to maintain similar prices between same-day and next-day deliveries.
“On top of plans to provide attractive same-day delivery cost structure for businesses, we have also started working with businesses to provide a dedicated rider service at their location for them on a daily basis.
“So, for example, businesses that have high volumes of parcels or documents to be delivered daily would partner with us for this dedicated service,” added Lingesh.
According to him, Borzo is looking to grow this segment of the business in 2022.
“Our main focus this year is to strengthen and streamline our operations in order to provide top-notch offerings at value to our customers,” he said.
Borzo’s client base here in Malaysia consists of businesses from various sectors and industries. Top sectors include food and beverage (F&B), floral, grocery, bakery, and community pharmacy.
The company has operations in 10 countries including Brazil, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, and Turkey, among others. Borzo has three million active customers, 75% of which are small and medium-sized businesses. – March 30, 2022
