Brain Synchro SPM 2022 returns full force to inspire students

THE Brain Synchro programme is back with its SPM 2022 edition as it strives to fulfil its aim to help underprivileged and underperforming students master Modern Mathematics as a subject while building mental and self resilience.

Organised in Kuala Lumpur by the Magic Maths Organisation (Pertubuhan Magik Matematik) with support from Yayasan Hasanah and Prihatin, the Brain Synchro SPM 2022 saw the enrolment of 252 students from nine locations:

  1. SMK Segambut, Segambut
  2. SMK Seri Pantai, Kg. Kerinchi
  3. SMK Bandar Tasik Selatan, Bandar Tasik Selatan
  4. SMK Jinjang, Jinjang
  5. SMK Seri Permaisuri, Cheras
  6. SMK. Raja Abdullah, Kepong
  7. Pusat Tahfiz Darus Syabab, Kepong
  8. PPR Seri Pantai, Lembah Pantai
  9. PA Sri Kelantan, Sentul

Held in hybrid form for six months, students enrolled in the programme attended online sessions in September, followed by physical classes in November last year where the students were exposed to an array of mental and quick calculation techniques as well as the applications of such techniques for the SPM Modern Mathematics paper.

What’s more, the topics were tailored to fit specific students by qualified and experienced teachers. In order to ensure that students are mentally prepared, counselling sessions were also included in the programme.

Students further sat for the Brain-Synchro Diagnostic Test and the Speed Test at the end of the programme to assess the development and mastery in the subject.

Results found that approximately 90% of the students had improved their scores, which is a testament to the effectiveness of the programme in terms of increasing students’ interest in Mathematics.

Students who participated in the Diagnostic Test received trophies while other students received Datacard vouchers worth RM30, bags, stationeries and certificates of participation.

The award ceremony was held on Feb 18, 2023 and was graced by Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil alongside Puan Anita Ahmad and Koh Xiu Heng from Yayasan Hasanah. – May 17, 2023
