BSN records significantly high transactions on myBSN platform

BANK Simpanan Nasional (BSN) has recorded three times more than usual transactions on its myBSN online platform during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.

The bank is trying its best to accommodate every single transaction to ensure that BSN’s customers experience a smooth banking transaction, it said in response to an email from Bernama.

It said myBSN experienced significantly high traffic since this morning yesterday was the first day the public could check their eligibility and apply for the ‘Bantuan Prihatin Nasional’ (BPN) cash aid under the Prihatin Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package (Prihatin).

However, BSN declined to specify whether the heavy traffic was largely due to the applications for the BPN, the one-off cash aid for individuals from the bottom 40% of the household income group (B40) and middle 40% of the household income group (M40).

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has, on March 27, unveiled the Prihatin package worth RM250 bil to assist businesses and people tide over the impact of Covid-19.

The MCO, which was supposed to end on March 31, was extended for another two weeks until April 14.

Meanwhile, the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) has advised the public to check their BPN’s eligibility status outside the peak hours as traffic to the official portal is very high at the moment.

“Since yesterday was day one, the public were eager to check their eligibility. They may check their status from April 1 to 30, 2020.

“For unsuccessful applications, they can submit their appeals to the agency’s official portal https://www.hasil.gov.my or https://bpn.hasil.gov.my beginning April 3,” it said.

The IRB said BPN payments would be made in stages in April and May 2020.- April 2, 2020, Bernama
