MALAYSIANS can now access and manage their Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) fuel subsidy directly through the TNG e-Wallet without having to show their physical MyKad at the counter or pump, according to TNG Digital Sdn Bhd.
The feature allows users to check eligibility, track subsidised balances, and make payments at all participating petrol stations using a single app.
As all users are verified through electronic Know-Your-Customer (eKYC), there is no need for manual identity checks at the pump. Each account is securely linked to the user’s verified identity and mobile device, offering a safer and more convenient way to redeem the subsidy.
TNG e-Wallet is accepted across all participating petrol brands, eliminating the need to download or switch between multiple apps when refuelling.
At PETRONAS stations, customers can also refuel conveniently through the PETRONAS via Setel feature within TNG e-Wallet, offering an added layer of ease and flexibility in their refuelling experience.
Common FAQs about using BUDI95 with TNG e-Wallet:
- Do I need to show my IC? All TNG eWallet users have already been verified through electronic Know-Your-Customer (eKYC) verification. This means there is no need to show your physical MyKad at the counter or pump.
- Which petrol brands can I use TNG e-Wallet for?You can use TNG e-Wallet at all participating petrol brands through the BUDI95 feature. At PETRONAS, customers can refuel using PETRONAS via Setel directly within TNG e-Wallet, without needing a separate app.
- Can I still pump a full tank with TNG e-Wallet? Simply select the highest available amount. The pump will stop once the tank is full. Any unused payment and BUDI95 balance will be refunded.
- What happens if I make a mistake or I need to cancel a transaction?If the wrong pump or amount is chosen, you can cancel the transaction anytime before making payment. If payment has been made but the QR code is not scanned within 10 minutes, the transaction will be voided automatically.
- Is there a time limit after QR code is scanned?There is no actual time limit for refuelling after the QR code is scanned. The five-minute display in the TNG eWallet app is an intentional feature to encourage users to refuel promptly and avoid delays at the pump. In practice, once payment is completed and the pump is activated, you can proceed to refuel as usual. Most users complete the process well within this time.
- Can I use Touch ‘n Go e-Wallet Visa Card for BUDI95?Yes, but with a difference. The Touch ‘n Go e-Wallet Visa Card works like any other card or cash payment, which means you will need to verify eligibility by showing your IC at the cashier or the pump.
- Will I still earn loyalty points from different petrol companies when using TNG e-Wallet? You will continue to earn loyalty points from participating petrol companies when using TNG e-Wallet. Just follow your usual method, by inserting your loyalty card or using the petrol brand’s mobile app before completing your transaction.
