SHARES on Bursa Malaysia finished the day mixed against better regional market performance which echoed the Wall Street rally amid a strong global economic recovery.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 surged 1.54% to 28,779.19, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng added 0.60% to 29,288.68 while Singapore Straits Times gained 0.07% to 2,907.06.
In contrast, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) eased 6.27 points or 0.396% to 1,578.63 at 5 pm from Thursday’s close of 1,584.90.
The barometer index opened 2.8 point higher at 1,587.70 and hovered from a low of 1,574.69 to a high of 1,590.47 throughout the day. – Feb 5, 2021
