Bursa Malaysia ends broadly lower amid global recession concerns

BURSA Malaysia ended broadly lower today, with the benchmark index inching towards the 1,400 psychological level in tandem with regional markets amid growing concerns about a global recession.

At 5pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) slipped 8.98 points or 0.64% to settle at 1,401.89 from Tuesday’s (Sept 27) close of 1,410.87.

The benchmark index, which opened 3.55 points easier at 1,407.32, moved between 1,400.41 and 1,409.13 throughout the day.

On the broader market, decliners trounced gainers 644 to 233, while 344 counters were unchanged, 1,177 untraded, and 38 others suspended. — Sept 28, 2022
