Bursa Malaysia ends higher on bargain hunting, tracks Wall Street gains

BURSA Malaysia closed higher today, boosted by bargain hunting following yesterday’s weakness and supported by positive cues from Wall Street overnight.

At 5pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose by 9.78 points, or 0.65%, to 1,513.60 from Monday’s close of 1,503.82.

The benchmark index opened 6.25 points higher at 1,510.07, and moved between 1,509.40 and 1,515.87 throughout the day.

On the broader market, gainers led decliners 523 to 392, while 416 counters were unchanged, 1,105 untraded and 16 suspended.

Turnover improved to 3.12 billion units worth RM2.50 bil from 3.01 billion units worth RM1.92 bil yesterday. – March 25, 2025
