BURSA Malaysia ended higher on Monday, extending its winning streak for the sixth day, with buying focused mainly on energy, banks, and commodity-related stocks.
At 5pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) gained 2.83 points to 1,465.28 from Friday’s close of 1,462.45.
The barometer index opened 0.89 of-a-point lower at 1,461.56 and moved between 1,460.42 and 1,468.74 throughout the day.
However, the broader market was slightly negative as losers surpassed gainers 459 to 373, while 546 counters were unchanged, 942 untraded, and 27 others suspended.
Turnover rose to 4.81 billion units worth RM3.02 bil from 3.77 billion units worth RM3.40 bil last Friday. – Dec 18, 2023
