PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced a revised Cabinet line-up with several new faces and a few reshuffles.
There are 31 ministers in Anwar’s revamped Cabinet, who will be aided by 29 deputy ministers. This is slightly larger than his initial 28-member Cabinet, which was assisted by 27 deputy ministers.
Speaking at the press conference following the announcement, Anwar said Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad is taking over the health portfolio as the unity government requires his experience.
According to the Tambun MP, the Health Ministry was burdened by numerous issues, some of which were passed on from previous administrations.
“[Dr Dzulkefly’s] experience is needed. I believe he can offer greater focus in the ministry. We hope that he can perform his duties well,” said the prime minister.
