CGS-CIMB Futures Sdn Bhd has launched its first Shariah-compliant futures to improve local investor access and cater to growing demand of sustainable investing.
Investors can now trade crude palm oil futures (FCPO) and palm kernel oil futures (FPKO) which are listed on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives with a peace of mind in a complete shariah-compliant environment.
“FCPO and FPKO have been deemed as shariah-compliant products by the Shariah Advisory Council of the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC),” CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd’s Shariah advisor Professor Dr Aznan Hasan pointed out.
“We are glad that CGS-CIMB Futures has taken the initiative to create a complete shariah-compliant environment where clients can trade without the worries of involving in Shariah non-compliant income.”

CGS-CIMB Futures which was incorporated on Feb 5, 1993 is also a trading participant of Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Bhd (BMDB) and a clearing participant of Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Clearing Bhd.
It also provides full brokerage services for BMDB’s broad range of exchange listed derivatives products and facilitates trading in recognised foreign exchange listed derivatives products.
Meanwhile, CGS-CIMB Securities’ CEO and group head (Islamic investment service) Ruzi Rani Ajith shared that CGS-CIMB Futures aims to offer investors opportunities to invest based on their principles to achieve their investment goals as well as to generate sustainable and positive impact.
