PEOPLE looking to complete their vehicle-related transactions already have a taste of the services from the Road Transport Department (JPJ) which are notorious for their long wait time.
This is especially true during peak periods. The frustration often led to quarrels between the staff and the public, which highlight the dire need to improve efficiency and customer services.
However, this is difficult considering that government departments are filled with unhelpful, bureaucratic red tapes and outdated systems.
Therefore, it came as no surprise when it was revealed that Chief Secretary of Government Shamsul Azri paid JPJ headquarters at Putrajaya a visit.
JPJ has been given a week to address lengthy waiting times for customers following a surprise visit by Chief Secretary to the Government, Shamsul Azri.
During his visit to JPJ headquarters in Putrajaya, Shamsul found the work process to be inefficient.

The post on X by BFM, continued that Shamsul also highlighted the need for a more conducive and customer-friendly waiting area, citing broken chairs and a lack of fans.
This reprimand follows his recent call for the immigration department to improve service after tourist complaints.
Netizen JC, however, was sceptical about the visit, saying that this was all for show.
Another netizen said a salary increase is not going to improve their efficiency as they know their jobs are not at stake.
Perhaps efficiency can be inculcated among the government servants when the inefficient are removed from their posts.
According to CK members of the press should also do their part to shed light into the inefficiencies of the government departments.
Netizen Dewa Said also recommended that Shamsul wear a disguise and visit the clinics and hospitals after this.
That being said, public service has a long way to go to achieve efficiency. We are always supportive towards any acts from top government officials to improve upon the effectiveness of public service as long as it is not an act merely to gain brownie points. – Sept 4, 2024
