Chinese bank in Malaysia waives remittance fees in light of coronavirus

LABUAN: China Construction Bank (CCB Malaysia) Bhd and China Construction Bank Labuan Branch (CCBL) has waived all fees for the following remittances or funds transfers:

. Remittances or funds transfers to mainland China (regardless of purpose);
. Remittances or funds transfers to other countries (other than mainland China) in support of relief efforts relating to the outbreak of the 2019 novel Coronavirus; and
. Remittances or funds transfers within Malaysia to support such relief efforts.

The fee waiver took effect yesterday, the bank said in a statement today.

It also disclosed that the China Construction Bank head office in Beijing has donated RMB30 mil (RM17.69 mil) to the Wuhan relief fund.

A total of RM64,320 was collected from the staff of CCB Malaysia and CCB Labuan to be channelled to the fund. – Jan 30, 2020, Bernama
