Cloud technologies to spur Alibaba’s client base growth in Malaysia

ALIBABA Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, foresees an exceptional client base growth across a range of industries throughout Malaysia in 2020.

Its growing momentum in Malaysia demonstrates how cloud-based intelligent solutions can be successfully applied for digital transformation in all industries.

Additionally, this is a testament as to how business organisations in the region are leveraging intelligent cloud services to re-design their operating models in the new normal against COVID-19 pandemic.

This achievement is due to the strategy that has been put in place by Alibaba Cloud, strengthening the ecosystem build-up with local partners and supporting the digital transformation of customers of all sizes.

New customers range from various industries including technology, banks, FinTech, retail, internet, media and hospitality industry.

Alibaba Cloud – ranked by Gartner as the biggest Infrastructure as Service (IaaS) provider in the Asia Pacific region for the third year in a row – remains the only international cloud service provider operating two local data centres in Malaysia since 2017.

“Moving into 2021, we will enhance our collaboration with more independent software vendors to provide tailor-made solutions to customers, and put more resources on managed service partners to improve service quality continuously, including training to cultivate more digital talents for local market,” Alibaba Cloud Intelligence general manager (Malaysia) Jordy Cao pointed out.

In partnerships with Alibaba Cloud throughout 2020, customers from across Malaysia are able to access proven technologies such as cloud computing, database and artificial intelligence (AI) to develop innovative solutions that meet their own specific industry demands.

These local partners and customers include CIMB, Genting, Revenue Monster, PrestoMall, Sabah Pay, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM). – Dec 18, 2020
