Competition panel seeks public’s views on services sector

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) is inviting the public and stakeholders to take part in its market review on the service sector in Malaysia (wholesale and retail for selected products).

In a statement today, MyCC said the objective of the study is to better understand the market structure and assess market activities along the supply chain to identify any anti-competitive conduct in the wholesale and retail trade for selected products in processed food and beverages, personal care products, household cleaning products and clothing.

“The study is also to review any policy or law that may impede competition in the industry. Therefore, interested public and stakeholders are welcome to give their feedback on the market review. Public and stakeholders can participate in the public consultation via online by sending their feedback to [email protected],” it said.

MyCC said the public and stakeholders could also participate in the physical public consultations that will be held in Kuching on Feb 27, Kuala Lumpur on March 3 and Kota Kinabalu on March 9. – Jan 28, 2020, Bernama
