THE recent deaths of several cats at Universiti Malaya have been linked to attacks by stray dogs, confirmed by police investigations using CCTV footage.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa stated that the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) confirmed the cats died from injuries sustained during the attacks.
“The police have received three reports regarding the cat deaths at the university on Tuesday (Dec 17), Friday (Dec 19), and Saturday (Dec 20). However, no eyewitnesses were present during the incidents,” Rusdi said in a statement on Sunday (Dec 22) as reported by Bernama.
Rusdi urged the public to avoid speculation and encouraged reporting incidents to the police or DVS for action against animal cruelty.
Bandar Tun Razak MP Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah also called for a thorough investigation into the disturbing discoveries. —Dec 22, 2024
